Note: One of the most prominent Sultans of Bengal Sultanate, Sikandar Bin Ilyas Shah ruled the Ilyas Shahi dynasty from 1357 to 1389 AD. He became a second Sultan to rule the Bengal Sultanate after overthrowing his father Sultan Shams-ud-din Ilyas Shah. During his lengthy reign, Sikandar struck a large number of coins. Starting with fairly plain designs and legends they develop into the most artistic series of Bengal coins to date. Sikandar began by striking coins at the same mints as his father. Sunargaon soon disappears, however probably due to a change in the course of the river on which it stood. A new mint was formed and named as Iqlim Mu’azzamabad.
