Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II&nbsp; alias Vikramaditya&nbsp;(375-415 AD),&nbsp;Gold Dinar,&nbsp;"Lion Slayer" type, Obv:&nbsp;the king standing, is seen mid-hunt, wearing dhoti and sash on his upper torso,&nbsp;holding a bow in his left hand with the right releasing the bowstring,&nbsp;the lion is facing the king and seen falling backward probably with&nbsp;an arrow in its mouth, the Brahmi legend around the field,&nbsp;Rev:&nbsp;goddess Lakshmi, seen wearing jewelry on her ears, neck and hands, seated in a Vamardhaparyanka pose on couchant Lion to left, showering coins with her right hand and&nbsp;a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh,&nbsp;a tamgha on the top left field, the Brahmi legend&nbsp;"Simhavikramah"&nbsp;on the&nbsp;right field,&nbsp;7.5g, 17.27mm,&nbsp;(Unlisted in Altekar/TGE, S. Kumar # Class III-Var. A.4.2), choice quality, about extremely fine, Extremely Rare.

Note:&nbsp;This type typically depicts Goddess Lakshmi holding a long-stemmed lotus in her left arm, replacing the usual cornucopia. In this specimen, however, coins (mudrā) are shown falling from her right hand. This represents one of the rarer varieties within the lion-slayer series.<o:p></o:p>
