Note: In AH 726 (AD 1326), Muhammad bin Tughluq reinstated Ghiyath ud din Bahadur as governor of East Bengal in Sunargaon. Two years later, Bahadur issued gold and silver coins bearing both his name and Muhammad's, symbolizing his allegiance. However, Bahadur later rebelled against his Delhi overlord, a defiance that led to his end.

Bahadur's coinage includes one gold and two silver types. The silver tankas closely resemble earlier Bengal issues, maintaining continuity in style.

This coin features an unusual reverse legend, with the totally new reading "al-sultan-ul azam ghiyath al-dunya wa’l din abu’l muzaffar bahadur shah al-sultan bin sultan," which differs from the joint issue type listed under Ghiyath ud din Bahadur with Muhammad bin Tughluq in Goron & Goenka (B116, Sunargaon mint, p. 164). Instead, it matches the reverse of a regular issue attributed to Ghiyath ud din Bahadur from the Shahr Lakhnauti mint (B109, p. 163). This specimen represents a joint issue of the two rulers but features a unique die combination, appearing for the first time, with reverse dies from different mints-Sunargaon and Lakhnauti, an exceptionally rare occurrence. An intriguing and significant numismatic example.
