Note: This large flan square rupee of Akbar, bearing the Kaab-e-Roushan couplet, features additional Persian words recently deciphered by S. Bhandare. He interprets the inscription as "Khuld Allahu Ankeh Ta'ala Mulkahu," which translates to "May Allah, who is Exalted, protect his kingdom."&nbsp;&nbsp;An intriguing feature of this coin is the symbol above the inscription, resembling either a fish or a floral vine. If it represents a fish, it may signify the cultural significance of fish in Bengal.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>The revised couplet now reads:&nbsp;"Sikka-e-Bangala zan Dilkhwah shud, Kaab-e-Roushan zarb-e-Akbar shah shud, Khuld Allahu Ankeh Ta'ala Mulkahu". Translated, this poetic couplet means: “The coin of Bengal that is so heart-pleasing, from this fact that its honour lay in being struck by Akbar Shah struck on it, May Allah, who is Exalted, protect his kingdom”.<o:p></o:p>
