Note:&nbsp;In 1526, Babur, the Timurid ruler of Kabulistan, defeated Sultan Ibrahim Lodhi of Delhi at the Battle of Panipat, resulting in Ibrahim's death and the allegiance of many of his generals and vassals. By AH 936 (1529 CE), Babur was consolidating his rule in northern India. Lahore, a key city previously governed by Ali Khan under the Lodhi Sultans, was captured by Babur in AH 930 (1523 CE) and integrated into his empire. Babur appointed Mir Abd-ul-Aziz as governor, followed by Mir Yunas-i-Ali, before Humayun eventually assumed control. Lahore remained under Babur's rule until his death.
